You’ve acquired a new customer and want to establish a “New Account” so you can record all of the demographic information you have on the “New Account”. Zurmo makes it very easy to navigate establishing a “New Account” so let’s get started!
The first step is to make sure you are on your Zurmo Dashboard. By selecting the “Home” button you will be situated on your Zurmo Dashboard.
Once on the Zurmo Dashboard, you notice the panel with the “Home” button also contains several other options such as Inbox, Accounts, Leads, Contacts, Opportunities, Marketing, Reports, and Products.
To establish a “New Account” select the “Accounts” option from the Zurmo Dashboard.
The screen will refresh and provide an option to “Create Account”. Select this option.
Enter all of the demographic information you have about the “New Account” into the appropriate fields in Zurmo’s “Create Account” Screen. Don’t worry if you do not have all of the information necessary for every field. You can edit the “Account” later to add or change any of the information you have detailed in a field on the “Create Account” screen. A separate post will cover editing an Account.
Once you have completed entering all of the data you have for the “New Account” into all of the available fields, consider the level of “Permissions” you want establish for this “Account”. Select the appropriate radio button for either “Owner” or “Everyone”. In the example below, I have selected “Everyone” which will allow everyone the opportunity to see this “Account” and the details involved with this “Account”.
The last step in creating a new “Account” is to save your data for the new “Account”. To do this, scroll down to the bottom of the window for the new “Account” and select the “Save” option.
Once the “Save” option is selected, a new window will open to display a summary of the detail you entered. Here is a partial view of what you will see. In this case, I named the “Account” “Test Account”.
Again, don’t worry if you don’t have details for every field related to an “Account”. As new information comes available to you, you can return to the “Account” and add new information. We will cover the approach to doing that in an upcoming post.
Congratulations, you’ve created a new “Account” in Zurmo!
