Do you have a lead that is ready to be converted to an Account or Contact? Zurmo makes it so easy! Let’s see how it’s done.
The first step is to make sure you are on your Zurmo Dashboard. By selecting the Home button you will be situated on your Zurmo Dashboard.
Once on the Zurmo Dashboard, you notice the panel with the Home button also contains several other options such as Inbox, Accounts, Leads, Contacts, Opportunities, Marketing, Reports, and Products. To convert a Lead, hover your mouse cursor over the Leads option and left click to select the Lead option.
Once the Leads option is chosen, Zurmo will refresh the screen to display a list view of all of your leads.
Click on the name of the lead you would like to convert and Zurmo will refresh the screen with the lead details and an Options selection. Click on Options and a drop down list of additional options presents with the following selections: Edit, Audit Trail, Convert, Clone, and Delete. Select the option for Convert.
When the option for Convert is selected, Zurmo will refresh the screen with a new Lead Conversion screen. On the Lead Conversion screen, you will see three options including 1) Create Account 2) Select Account 3) Skip Account.
These three choices provide you with the option to create an account to associate with the Lead, select an account already in Zurmo to associate with the Lead, or Skip creating or selecting an account to associate with the Lead in Zurmo. Let’s take them one at a time.
Create an Account is the default option which simply requires entering an Account Name in the Name* field. (Note: certain field names such as Name in this case are marked with a red asterisk (*) which denotes a required data field). Enter the Account Name you would like to use in the Name field and select the Complete Conversion option.
Select an Account is the option that allows you to associate your Lead with an existing account. To select an account, click on the Select Account option. To use the power of Zurmo’s search capability simply enter the first letter of the Account you want to associate the Lead with and Zurmo will provide you with a drop down list of accounts to choose from. Select the appropriate account and click on Complete Conversion
Skip Account allows you to completely skip the account association in Zurmo and simply create a contact from the Lead. To Skip the account association process, click Skip Account option and the Complete Conversion option.
Once the Complete Conversion option is chosen, the Lead is converted into a Contact in this case since we chose to Skip the Account option. When the Complete Conversion option is chosen, the screen will refresh revealing a new contact and a confirmation that the conversion was successful noted in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
It is worth noting that upon conversion to either a new Account, an existing Account, or a Contact, the Lead will no longer appear in the Leads list. Whether you choose to associate the lead with a newly created account or an existing account, once you choose the Complete Conversation option, Zurmo will refresh the screen with the Account information available for editing.
