[Site.Pro] Getting Started

Coding and web design is not for everyone and outsourcing such work can be very expensive. To solve this issue Arvixe has implemented a new sitebuilder called Arvixe Builder which you can find in your cPanel control panel. Using Arvixe Builder you can build your own website very quickly and professionally all without writing a single line of code thanks to the built in drag and drop editor.

  1. Login to your cPanel control panel
  2. Under the Software/Services category click on the icon: Arvixe Builder

Visit the new Arvixe Builder clicking on this icon, located in cPanel.

  3.  You will be prompted to a page listing your primary, sub and addon domain names, from here, select the domain/subdomain where you plan to publish your website to (select where your site will go live after you publish the template)

Select your preferred location where you plan to actually publish your website.

  4. Once you have selected your domain you will be redirected to the site builders template portfolio. From here, select a ‘base’ design you would like to work from (you can change the layout such as text areas later on)
Example of a couple templates, you can choose from over 100!

You can use the left menu to filter out templates by categories. Once you have chosen your template click on the green Select button and it should load the template in edit mode.

And that is it, you should now have a fully loaded template which you can edit to accommodate your needs. For a more advanced tutorial on actually building your website please see the article titled [Site.Pro] Building your website

How can I ad a blog and store to my site? Can I do this via arvixebuilder, or do I need to use a different app? If so, how?

      Hello,

Store: You can add PayPal buy now buttons though the site builder is not really intended to be a fully blown eCommerce solution. For that we would recommend another software (which you can run alongside your Arvixe Builder template) such as OpenCart of PrestaShop. The best way to accomplish this is having your store in a directory (/clients, /billing, /order etc) and have your website (example.com) link to your eCommerce platform.

Blog: Like with the store, it isn’t really intended to be a fully blown blogging platform. More for HTML based websites. However, you can upload a proper blog solution such as WordPress to /blog/ and then have your website link to your blog.

You can achieve both by choosing your preferred software for each (a blogging and shopping platform). Once chosen, you can upload them via the file manager within cPanel and install them like you normally would. Probably best to choose a separate directory for each though (each having its own folder). Alternatively, you can install these via Softaculous.

Per the other person’s comment, please publish more info. Like…anything. While the templates are modular, they are too limiting and templatized. The info on creating a backup is great because I thought I was just stuck with what I had since it says everything will be deleted if I choose to reset. I struggle with how to change things like fonts, there are just the few that come with the template and that’s all. For non-web developers like myself, I need a bit more instruction on what things mean, what the real capabilities are and what the limitations are. Are there more features coming out soon? There are a ton more blogs on wordpress, I’m considering just redoing my site using wordpress since there is more info available on it.

      Hello,
Thanks for your feedback on the website builder. To start, WordPress is a very good option to build your website on (in terms of features, themes and flexibility) so if you’re still considering it, do give it a try.

If you’d prefer sticking to Site.Pro, can you let me know what it is you’re trying to do and what you feel is missing? Also, which parts of Site.Pro do you not understand? With this info we can start to build a list of what we should include in our next articles for the site builder.

C’mon, Arvixe please stop and read the replies you are getting. We are asking over and over again for documentation to help with the Arvixe Builder. There is basically NONE. Start with why a person has to use someone else’s template to start. Explain the grid on the template pages why don’t the vertical grid lines move. How about documentation on each icon used in Arvixe Builder. After looking at other software, I think what people want is documentation and/or a help section like other pieces of software. Thanks

    • Alex says:

      Hello,

We will have more documentation coming this week :).

Keep an eye out on our blog and/or social channels for it.

      -Alex.

There needs to be a place to get very basic information for those of us who are using Arvixe builder, have a very limited knowledge base and are making a web site for the first time. I find your support is too advanced for very basic users. Several functions in the builder need to be explained. What is grid, snap and layout? How are the vertical lines moved? Can anything go on either side of these vertical lines without snapping back? What is a favicon & do I want one for my website? What exactly is the order function moving and where is it going? What is an anchor, show blocks, subscript & strike through. I’m sure I have more questions but explaining these would be a good start.

      Hello,

Can you please try now – It should only take a minute or two to complete? If it still fails, I recommend reaching out to our support team (support [at] arvixe.com).

      Thanks,

  8. Hi,
I have the site up with Builder and have 2 questions.
1- Is there any way to get in to the html to add rich snippets and structured data code?
2- How do I optimize the page for mobile phones and tablets, without losing my setup for normal pc use?
    Thanks

    • Alex says:

      Hello,

      1. Yes there is. Login into the control panel (not into the site builder) and click ‘Filemanager’. Here you will see the contents of your site that you have published from Arvixe Builder. Open any file (right click -> Code Editor) and add your snippets where you would like.

Do note, after every template update you might have to re-apply your snippets as the builder will overwrite any changes you manually make with the changes saved in the site builder.

      2. This would really depend if you have chosen a site which is mobile friendly. When inside the site builder, do you see little icons representing a phone, tablet etc? If so, simply click these to enable them.

      Thanks,

      Alex.

I build our new web site with Site pro. The PC version is already published.
I now need to work on the phone size version of my site but get no access to the toolbar (from Text to social) so I cannot make nothing…
        What is the solution ?
Thank you very much… This web site on phune format is quite important for us.

How can I stop sitepro files from being used and only use the html and css files that I want to use now? I have uploaded my files to my file manager and I have a warning page (index.html), that goes to my “home” page but when going to missryanjones.com/home it brings me to the “under construction” page I made on the builder instead of the “home” page that I want to use. I haven’t been able to figure out how to get rid of that, even after deleting all the files under “sitepro” in my file manager.

    • Alex says:

      Hello,

I recommend you try deleting the entire /home directly then re-creating it and uploading the relevant files that you wish to use.

That should cover it. If not, try reaching out to support [at] arvixe.com.
