Ping your Blog with BlogEngine.NET

Pinging is one of the important factor which you should consider while running a blog. It is nothing but announcing the addition of each blog post to the relevant services so that your content will be quickly visible on the search engines.

BlogEngine administrator dashboard enables you to add ping services depending upon your requirements.

(1) Login to dashboard

(2) Select Settings option

(3) Select Ping Services option from the navigation panel located on the right hand side

(4) You will view a page with the caption – Ping Services

(5) Provide a ping service URL in Ping Service URL field. Alternatively, you can provide ping service URLs in bulk by separating them into each line.

By default, BlogEngine provides few ping service URLs. These services will be notified as and when you publish a blog post, which in turn produces more hits over the period of time.

In addition to the default ping service list provided with BlogEngine, you can also add following additional services.

Some sites on the web provide large ping list containing Google links but it is not recommended to add them since search engines will consider them as SPAM.
