The live chat widget that’s pre-loaded into nopCommerce is powered by Live Person; you’ll need to set up your account with them before integrating it into your live chat widget on nopCommerce. Live Person is not a free service, so you’ll need to determine your anticipated needs before acquiring the appropriate account level for your site. The “Pro” level is the basic business chat level, and may be a good place to start.
To configure your live chat, log into your nopCommerce instance as an administrator, and access the Admin area. Under “Content Management”, select ‘Widgets’. Click the “Configure” link next to ‘Live Person (Chat)’. On this page, you’ll see a detailed list of information on how to get your Live Person account set up – the information is as follows:

After you’ve completed your Live Person setup, and entered the rest of your information, you should be good to go. Be sure to plan specific “live customer service” hours, and be consistent – there’s nothing worse than a “Live Chat” advertised, and a live operator never available.
