IIS User Permissions in SQL Server

Hello everyone in this blog we are going to show you how to assign IIS user (APPPOOL) to a sql server.

If we are programing on visual studio the most probable is that you are going to be installing your application on a Windows Server (Live or Locahost), and sometimes you do this, is going to show you this error.

In order to fix this error we are going to add a user on SQL SERVER, the name of the iis user appears on the error in this case is: (IIS APPPOOL\(Site carpet)) .

To add this user we need to have install SSMS.

Open SSMS in the panel of “Object Explorer”, search the server where you have install your data base and do left click on the “Logins” folder, then click on new user.

In the General properties window, set the following login name:

IIS APPPOOL\(Site carpet)

And then set the database that your project needs:

Now, in the “Server Roles” tab,  select Sysadmin. Then click in “OK” to save your changes:

And tha’s it! Now your IIS APPPOOL user have access to your data base
