Hello,
If you got not clue on how to install Clip-Bucket in your server, you’ll be amazed how easy it is by following this small guide. This tutorial is for v2.0.91. It’s a very similar process for newer versions. Send me a message if you need help doing it.
Difficulty level: Easy-Medium
1. Download CB. When you finish downloading it, you will notice that it’s a ZIP file.
2. Upload the ZIP file to your server, either with a FTP client or directly via cPanel to public_html. (In this example we will upload it to public_html, but it can be uploaded wherever you want) (Learn how to upload files via FTP with FileZilla or Learn how to upload files via cPanel.)
3. Once uploaded, go to your cPanel. Under Files, click on ‘File Manager’. Select Document Root then your main domain name. Click Go.
4. At the left look for public_html, and click on it so its content is shown in the right box.
5. Find and select the ZIP file.
6. In the icons at the top, click on Extract. It is the second icon from right to left (<-).
7. Once extracted, go to ./public_html/clipbucket_2.0.91/upload
8. Select all the files & folders. You can easily do this by clicking on the icon at the top that says Select All. Once everything is selected, drag all the files to the public_html directory located at the left panel. Make sure they were actually moved in there.
9. Create a Database along with a username and password. There’s a tutorial to do this written by Arian Jahansouz here: http://blog.arvixe.com/how-to-add-databases-and-users-using-mysql-wizard-in-cpanel/
10. In your browser type {YOURURL}/install. An example of this: http://www.url.com/install.
11. Select Fresh Installation.
12. Type your DB name, DB User, DB Pass, DB Host, and the prefix you want to use in tables. I recommend leaving it with the default cb_ prefix. In the DB Host field type localhost.
13. If there were no errors, it will tell you your admin login. I recommend removing the install directory from your site as it can be a big security hole.
That’s all! You have now just installed Clip-Bucket. Please anything you need, any question or errors, hit me up with a message and I’ll be more than glad to help you =).
Best Regards,
Richi
