How to disable showing Guests Online

Hello everyone,

Today we are going to discuss how to disable the Guests Online in your online members section. What I am talking about is this section:

As you can see there are 11 Guests online. I am going to show you today how to disable this. It’s fairly simple and requires the use of FileZilla.

Let’s get started!

So get your FTP client up and running. Your going to navigate to your Xenforo installation.  After you do that you are looking for a folder called Library. It looks like this:

From there you are going to go to the Xenforo folder:

then to Controller Public:

and then to the file Online.php like so:

So download the file and open it with your favorite editor, mine is Notepad ++ so that is what I am going to use. Once it’s open you are going to look for Line 30 it looks like this:

So now we need to put the following code on line 35 before “// allow force including of self, even if invisible

The code is:

‘userLimit’ => ‘registered’

So it looks like this once it’s in:

Reupload this back to the same folder and overwrite the old one with the new one. Once you do that navigate to your forums and look no more guests!

If you have any questions please feel free to ask away!
