In this article, I will give you a step by step guide on how to authenticate user login with Twitter in Elgg 1.8. Sign in your Elgg site as an admin and follow these steps:
1. Go to the Administration Dashboard and on the right side menu click on Plugins:
2. On the plugin section, first we are going to activate a plugin called Oauth Api 1.8:
3. After activating Oauth Api 1.8 we are going to activate the Twitter one. On the Plugins page, look for Twitter API 1.8 and activate it:
4. Now, after activating the plugin, a link will appear. Click on it to enter your Twitter Public and Private Key:
5. On the Twitter API configuration page, enter the public and private Twitter Key. To get those keys, you need to go the Twitter App page. Also, on that page, select yes to Allow users to sign in on your Elgg site with twitter:
6. And that’s it, now your users can log in on your Elgg site with Twitter:
