How to Add Default Documents Using WebsitePanel

Websites loads as per the default document file name set inside the server. These file names are added/modified using IIS. In a shared hosting scenario, access to IIS on the server is not allowed. However, WebsitePanel provides an ability to add default documents from within the interface. Moreover, you can also update and delete them.

(1) Login to WebsitePanel

(2) Select Web | Web Sites

(3) Select the relevant domain name from the Web Sites page for which you want to add default documents

(4) Web Site Properties page will be displayed. You will be able to view a list box titled Default Documents with several file names as shown below

  • Default.htm
  • Default.asp
  • index.htm
  • Default.aspx
  • index.php
  • index.html
  • default.html
  • Default.cshtml

You can add another file name such as welcome.html.
