One of the great features of Zurmo is that Tasks can be created to set a due date, document and track your progress, or set a follow up item.
The first step is to make sure you are on your Zurmo Dashboard. By selecting the Home button you will be situated on your Zurmo Dashboard.
From the Dashboard, locate the Create button in the upper right hand corner of the Dashboard. Hover your mouse pointer over the Create button and a drop down list of options will appear which includes Tasks among other items.
Click on the Task option and a new window will open to allow for the entry of a Task Name and Task Details. In this case, the Task Name is Test Task and the Task Description entered was ‘This is a test task to follow up on the new lead’.
Once you have entered all of the information necessary into the Task Name and Task Description field, locate the option for ‘Save’ on the same window you used to enter the Task Name and Task Description and click on Save.
Once the Save button is selected, Zurmo will open a new window designed to add a due date and other collaborative information. There are a number of features on this window to review however for brevity, we will simply add a due date and finalize the addition of the task in this article and cover other Task Collaboration features in separate posts. To establish a due date for the Test Task, locate the Due Date option on the right side of the Task Collaboration screen.
Note to the right of the field for the Due Date, there is a Calendar icon useful in selecting the due date for the task. Simply click on the Calendar icon and select the date you wish to establish for the due date. You can use the slide bars on the bottom of the calendar to set the time in hours and minutes.
In this case, the due date selected was November 22nd and the time selected by sliding the Hour slide bar to the right is 9:00am. Once you have set your due date and time, select Done from the calendar window to complete the entry. Once you select Done, the calendar will vanish and you will be able to see the date you have entered into the collaboration screen in the due date field.
The last step in the process is to close the task collaboration window by clicking on the green ‘X’ in the upper right hand corner of the window.
Congratulations, you’ve created a new Task in Zurmo!
