Web Gardens for a High Performance ASP Application

Hello everyone in this article we are going to show you how to configure Web Gardens limits to a high performance asp application, web application that involves quite a few long running operations (web service calls) you may want to free up your main thread as much as possible. By default every web site is run under one main thread which is responsible to keep your web site alive (see image below).

Unfortunately when the application is too busy, your site may become unresponsive. There is one way of adding more “main threads” to your application which is achievable by adding more worker processes to your site under IIS to do this we need to follow the next steps:

First: open your IIS Manager.

Second: under the Connections panel click in Application Pools.

Third: Select the application pool and we make right click on it, then make click in advanced settings.

Fourth: Under Process Model we change the Maximum Worker Process value by default is 1 and we can change to de number of process that we want then click in OK.

5And that’s it! You can see at the image below we add the worker process to the ASP Site.
