Using the Mass Mailer in Dolphin 7.1.4

Hello and welcome! In today’s blog I’ll show you how to use the mass mailer in Dolphin 7.1.4. It can be used to send an email to anyone who has subscribed on your site’s homepage and also all your members.

One thing to note is the Dolphin cron job MUST be setup for the mass mailer to correctly send out emails.

We will begin by logging into the Dolphin admin.  First we will add an email that we need to be sent. Do this by clicking “Mass Mailer” under the “Tools” heading on the left side menu. Then, add the subject and body, and click “Submit”. Once an email is submitted, it is saved in the mass mailer permanently.

Select the email you wish to send from the drop down menu labeled “Messages”. Now you can choose a specific set of people to send the mail to by selecting from several options. Once you have the correct message selected and the options you need, just click “Submit.”

Now, you will notice the total number of emails waiting to be sent is listed in the queue at the top of the page.

By default, the mass mailer runs every 10 minutes. So if you set the mailer to send 50 emails per cron run that means in an hour, 300 emails will be sent. That is all there is to it!
