Upgrading Dolphin 7.1.4 to Dolphin Pro (7.1.5)

In today’s blog, I’ll show you how to upgrade from the previous version of Dolphin (7.1.4) to the new Dolphin Pro (7.1.5).

We’ll start by backing up our current site just to be on the safe side. This should include the physical files and also the database. Now download the patch, which can be found here:

Now extract the patch on your local hard drive and upload all the files and folders via FTP to your web directory. The directory structure should be kept the same so the old files and folders will be overwritten.

Now use FTP to delete the .htaccess file from the “upgrade” directory on your webserver.

You can now run the upgrade script using your web browser and going to:

www.yoursite.com/upgrade/

Read all the onscreen text to make sure all the automated steps completed successfully.

The final step must be completed manually. Through FTP open:

www.yoursite.com/inc/header.inc.php

and change:

$site['build']             = '4';

To:

$site['build']             = '5';

Save the file and that step is complete. Now you can safely delete the “upgrade” directory and you’re done.

That’s it. You’re now running the latest “Pro” version of Dolphin!
