[Alfresco] Update Debug Logging Preference

In previous post related to the debug menu in Alfresco, I introduced you with the new Debug Menu added in Alfresco share which helps Alfresco developers to debug Alfresco share widgets and other javascript code. As I had promised we will be discussing on each of the available option in more depth here we go. In this post I will discuss related to “Update Dubug Logging Preference” Option available in that debug menu.

First Lets see how logs appear with default logging level. To check that open console either on Firefox or in Chrome. Here I am showing you chrome image in earlier post I have used firefox web console.

Alfresco Logs in Chrome Alfresco Logs in Chrome1In the first screenshot you will be able to see all logs and I have expanded one of the log and you will be able to see all related details. To see the actual javascript file from which logs are coming you need to click on link on right side and it will lead you to second screen. You will be able to see how that log is added to console and how function name is defined in javascript file to make it visible in the console during debug mode.

Now as you could see there are various logger statements available by default it you want to see only particular set of logs based on level you could do it through that option “Update Debug Logging Preference”.

Set Debug Filter

Click on that and it will open up popup as shown below. Add you value and click Save.

Update Logging Preference

It will filter out rest of the logs and will only show logs for widgets which meets given criteria in filter. Those filter are saved in user preferences.

With this we have explored one of the option available in the debug menu. Many more to follow in upcoming blogs.
