[TomatoCart] Crawl Amazon images and save them into store automatically

From my point of view, it is really boring to upload product images one by one in TomatoCart admin panel. If you are selling the product that is being sold in the amazon platform, we could just crawl the Amazon product images and save them into your TomatoCart store automatically. You just need to enter an amazon product url for it.

In this article, I will share you a such kind of package and teach you how to install and use it. Once you install it for your store, it will work as follows:

  • You could enter an amazon url for the product in the products data panel.

Snip20150723_6After entering the amazon url, you just need to click the submit button to let system crawl the images automatically.

  • This may takes several minutes to parse the images and download them into your store. So, please be patient for it. If everything goes well, you will find the downloaded images in the images tab. The default image will be set automatically based on the default image in the amazon product details page.

  • In addition, an external amazon link will be displayed in the products grid too. So, you could know that product is using the amazon products images. If you need to check the amazon page, just click the link icon.

Jack, why you don’t use EXT directory instead of PACKAGES directory for external modules? Are there some additional problems?

I’ve checked this update, but it doesn’t work on fresh TC installation. After update TC doesn’t show any product in Products window. Also when I try to add images using Amazon it stops to save the product and admin panel shall be reloaded. Maybe some of the PACKAGES do not work?
