People are often confused by the difference between
hasChildren() in MODX Revolution. Understanding which one is which is important if you want to use them in your web pages.
isfolder is a resource field (which contains either a 0 or a 1), like
content. In both MODX Evolution and Revolution, the
isfolder field matches the “Container” checkbox on the Create/Edit Resource panel. It contains a 1 if the “Container” checkbox is checked and a 0 if it is not checked.

When you want to use Silex it is important to understand that there is a layer hierarchy. Some layers are called “parent layers” and some are called “children layers”.
We call parent layer, a layer from which one another layer had been created (its children layer).

A Silex publication, whatever kind, is made up of layers and sub-layers (if you know Photoshop and Illustrator for example, it is the same principle).
Each layer has necessarily one sub-layer. You can’t dissociate them.
