Site News are a great place to share with your users any update within your elgg network. For a long time there was not a proper news tool. The previous one required to install another plugin which caused a lot of conflicts. For that reason I decided to write a better news plugin. In this article I will give you a step by step guide on how to add a site news section in elgg 1.8
1. First, download the News plugin that I developed for elgg 1.8 here

This article focuses on the basic sections and features of the phpFox admin control panel (admincp).
The Dashboard is the first page you see when you login to your admincp. This page will show you basic site statistics for the day, which admins are currently active, and the latest news and updates from phpFox itself.
A key feature of this page is the AdminCP Notes box. This text box can be used to keep whatever notes are important to you, I have used it when setting up a site to keep track of what has been done and what still needs to be done. I have also used it to keep track of banned members and why they have been banned, ip addresses of spammers, members that have been warned, and even members that I thought might be worthy of a promotion to moderator of the site.

If you are doing custom development within mojoPortal, your users will find it extremely beneficial (and you’ll have a much more peaceful deployment) if you leverage mojoPortal’s built-in help system.
There are two ways to include “help” references in a custom module or page: the first way, which is specific to module settings, is to add a “helpKey” attribute to a “FeatureSetting” element within the feature’s Feature Definition config file. To see an example, open up one of the config files under mojoPortal.Web/Setup/applications/KDMediaPlayer/FeatureDefinitions. You’ll notice the “helpKey” attributes reference a file name – these files are located under the /Data/HelpFiles section.
