Google Checkout is known to not support multiple currencies. If you are a UK based seller selling in USD this can become a problem, though a little hidden feature in WHMCS can solve this by processing payments in your Google Checkout accounts currency.

mojoPortal Tips: Uploading Multiple Files in Shared Files Feature

Last Updated on Saturday, 23 February 2013 02:09 Written by Carole Bennett Wednesday, 27 February 2013 12:00

Leveraging mojoPortal as a CMS is a smart decision for organizations that need to provide access to protected files and content with access rights defined by user roles within the website itself. However, if you’ve got a lot of files that need to be uploaded at one time, you may feel daunted by the scope of the project. Never fear – there’s a way to upload a large number of files at once, and keep your workload manageable.

For shared files (.pdf, .doc, .xls), we’ll leverage the Shared Files feature in mojoPortal. The prerequisite for being able to upload files in bulk to the Shared Files feature is to have your mojoPortal-based site running in Full Trust. This allows the NeatUpload component to provide the option to select multiple files from your computer, and upload them to your Shared Files feature.

mojoPortal Tips: New Blog Features – Multi-Author Support!

Last Updated on Saturday, 15 December 2012 12:01 Written by Carole Bennett Saturday, 15 December 2012 12:00

With the latest version of mojoPortal (2.3.9.4), a terrific new feature has been incorporated; the ability to allow multiple authors to write in a single blog, without giving them access to any posts other than their own.  In addition, you can now also include authors’ bios and avatar as a part of each blog entry, allowing for greater personalization for each author’s work. Let’s go over how you can implement this feature set in mojoPortal.

I’ve recently upgraded my own site, IndigoTea.com, to use the 2.3.9.4 version of mojoPortal. One of the best new features is the ability to automatically add author bio and image information to Blog entries and HTML Instances. In order to have this option, you’ll need to go to your Profile, where in addition to your avatar, which is what will be displayed next to your bio, you’ll see a new field labeled “Author Bio”. This field must be populated in order to see the option to allow your bio and avatar information to be displayed.

Sometimes when administering elgg, you have to delete users. It is not a problem if you have to delete one user. However when you have to delete several users at once, it becomes really frustrating. For that reason, in this guide I will give you a step by step guide on how to delete several users at once.

1. We are going to use a tool called “Bulk User Admin” This is a plugin developed by an elgg core developer. Download it here

2. After downloading the plugin, upload the plugin to the mod folder of your elgg network to install it.

3. Now, go to your Elgg network and sign in as an Administrator. Then go to the Administration Panel:

mojoPortal Tips: How to Set Up Multiple Sites on a Single mojoPortal Installation on Arvixe VPS

Last Updated on Friday, 3 August 2012 11:29 Written by Carole Bennett Friday, 24 August 2012 12:00

A multi-site implementation of mojoPortal might make sense for any number of reasons; separate sites for multiple locations, child sites for different departments, or reduced maintenance overhead for a related group of sites. Thankfully, mojoPortal makes this an easy process, as does Arvixe. Let’s walk through the steps of creating multiple sites on a single Arvixe instance.

Today I’m going to set up a separate mojoPortal instance for my hardware specialist to have his own website. Since he’s more focused on hardware than software, it’ll be less overhead for me to manage it as a child site of the main mojoPortal instance, IndigoTea.com

First, I’ll log into the IndigoTea.com admin section; under Site Settings, I’ll click the “New Site” link.
