When a user opens an account on your Elgg network, he receives a default notification email to validate his account. Many of our Elgg users want to modify the content of that email to make it more personal. In this in article, I will give you a step by step guide on how to change the text of the validation email in Elgg 1.8.

1. First, let’s connect to your site with an FTP Manager. After that we need to open the languages folder, located in YourElgg1.8Folder/mod/uservalidationbyemail/languages/

mojoPortal is a terrific CMS (content management system); one of the best things that a CMS has to offer is the ability to allow users to edit their own content, without the need to possess advanced HTML skills.  Editing your own content in mojoPortal is quick and easy!

We’ll go through the steps to demonstrate how to edit content in mojoPortal, including how to add images to your content. This tutorial requires that you have a working instance of mojoPortal, and are logged into the website as a use with access rights to edit content (check with your web administrator to make sure).

First, we’ll go over the steps to add new content to a page. Once you’re logged into your site, you’ll see an administration menu at the bottom of the page; click on “Edit This Page”.

Hello fellow hosters! In response to a comment left on my most recent article (Making DNS Record Changes in cPanel), I decided to blog about how to change DNS zones in an ASP hosting environment. Specifically, using Arvixe’s WebsitePanel. This is a quick and easy procedure, but PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK! Changing DNS records can cause all kinds of havoc if done improperly.  I’ll repeat what was said last time:

ATTENTION: Do not attempt to modify these fields unless you are absolutely sure what you are doing! This tutorial will provide a bit of background on each type of record, but is not for beginners. Please contact Arvixe support if you are not 100% comfortable with these actions and their consequences.

This article is for those looking to make changes to their DNS zone using Arvixe’s cPanel software. It is an update of an older blog instruction set from 2009. The “simple” and “advanced” DNS Zone Editors allow users to add, remove, and modify A, CNAME, and TXT type records.
