One of ocPortal’s biggest strengths is its large amount of features. However, to a new user the adminzone may initially look a little overwhelming. This post is a brief look at the different screens to help you find your way around when you have installed a new ocPortal website.  I’m not going to go into great detail for every single option within the adminzone or you will end up reading a 10,000 word essay! In this post, I will show you how you can find the status of your domain. This is very useful in case everything shows fine in your configuration and name server setup but the domain is still not resolving.

To find information about any domain, go to: http://whois.domaintools.com

Enter the domain name that you wish to check and click “search”. You will be able to see information about:

SocialEngine: Incorrect Configuration

Many SocialEngine users have this issue during upgrade or in package manager.

Your session configuration is incorrect and could not be automatically corrected. Please set session.save_handler=files and session.save_path=/tmp (or your temporary directory on non-Linux OSes.
