This article will give you a step by step guide on how to change the default background color of Elgg 1.8. With an FTP manager, connect to your website public_html and follow these steps:
1) Open the file YourElggFolder\views\default\css\elements\reset.php
2) Inside the file, look for the BODY section. In that section is where we are going to change the background color of your Elgg 1.8 site:

In this article, I am going to use the MojoPortal inbuilt HTML module to create an eye-catching mixture of graphics and text, including a resizable graphic background.
On my website I want to add my wine list page. I want something a bit more jazzy than just bullet-point text with a couple of images next to it. No specific inbuilt module springs to mind as best for this job and I am not ready for a custom module just yet, so I am going to use the HTML module and CSS.
