Steps On Removing Everything Related to Photos and Collections in Clip-Bucket v2.6

Written by Richi González Sunday, 1 January 2012

Hello,

If you just want your site to have video content, you might have noticed that Clip-Bucket has option to upload photos and create collections for them. You’ve come to the right place; I’ll show you how to remove all traces related to photos from your Clip-Bucket v2.6 site. It might work for other v2.x versions, but I have not tried; if you want me to take a look at specific version, let me know, and I’d be more than glad to assist you.

Difficulty level: Easy, it just takes a couple of minutes.

We will disable functionality of both collections and photos in the admin_area. I wrote an article before for disabling Photos (see it here). We will do what that article says but for collections too.

1. Log in to the admin_area (http://domain.tld/admin_area)

2. On the left column, look for Website Configurations, under Stats And Configurations. Click it.

3. Scroll to the bottom and you’ll see “Enable Photos” & “Enable Collections”. Set them to NO.

4. Update Settings

Ok, so we have now disable functionality of Photos & Collections, but if you go to your website home, you’ll see there are still buttons that take you to uploading of photo. (This is for the default cbv2new template)

5. Open header.html, located in ./styles/{TEMPLATE}/layout/*

I recommend doing a backup of the file, in case you want to revert changes.

6. Search for: <div class=”updatedUpload”>

7. Below that, remove:

| <a href="{link name='photo_upload'}">Upload Photo</a>

8. Save & Upload.

And that’s it! You have now completely disappeared the photos and & collections in your site. If you have a different template rather than cbv2new, let me know and I’ll help you removing any trace of photos.

Best Regards,

My sister saved this internet site for me and I have been going through it for the past several hrs. This is really going to benefit me and my classmates for our class project. By the way, I like the way you write.
