SocialEngine 4: Set Cookies Website Warning

Andrew - SocialEngine

Previously, users didn’t need to warn users about the cookies that may be downloaded whilst visiting a website. However, laws have changed especially around Europe which now makes this a legal requirement.

The easiest way to do this is via a cookie warning on the first page users see on the site they are browsing.

Luckily, some tools exist which makes life significantly more easier by providing you with the code you need. You can now go to Silktide and create the code and add it to the landing page of your site within a HTML Block.

Once you have generated the coding simply go to your admin panel move to Layout Manger.

Your first page is Normally Landing page here you can drag and drop a html block on the page.

A new box will open up and you can enter the code Generated via Silktide.

Once you have added the code click on Save Changes this will update you landing page to display the new Cookie Warning for your site members.
