SocialEngine 4: Remove Search Bar

If you do not wish to have a search bar within your social engine, you can follow this guide to remove it.

Find the following file:

/application/modules/Core/widgets/menu-mini/index.tpl

Back it up somewhere in so you have an unchanged copy if you mess something up and need to revert back to it.

Find and remove the following code:

<?php if($this->search_check):?>
    <li id="global_search_form_container">
    <form id="global_search_form" action="<?php echo $this->url(array('controller' => 'search'), 'default', true) ?>" method="get">
    <input type='text' class='text suggested' name='query' id='global_search_field' size='20' maxlength='100' alt='<?php echo $this->translate('Search') ?>' />
    </form>
    </li>
    <?php endif;?>

Save and reload your homepage. No more search bar.
