Setting Favicon in Elgg 1.8

On a previous article I demonstrated how to do set a favicon in elgg, however such plug-in will not work on more recent version of elgg 1.8, because it wasn’t properly coded and had conflicts with several themes and plug-ins. In this article I will show you how to set up the updated favicon plug-in in elgg 1.8

1. Download myfavicon plugin for elgg 1.8

2. Install the plugin in the mod folder of your Elgg installation. If you don’t know how to do that, please read this article.

3. Sign into your Elgg network as an Administrator and on the top bar, click on the Administration link:

4. Go to menu “Configure > Plugins”

25. Search for “MyFavicon 1.8-0.9” click and activate it.

36. Upon activation, the plugin will set a new default favicon. To replace the favicon go to “YourElggSite/mod/myfavicon/graphics/favicon.ico“, and replace that file with your custom favicon.

And that’s it you can enjoy your new favicon!

This concludes Setting Favicon in elgg 1.8
