mojoPortal Tips: Exporting Your Newsletter Subscriber List

mojoPortal has a great built-in newsletter function, but there are times you may prefer to use a third-party service with more advanced features, such as Constant Contact or MailChimp. At these times, it’s helpful to be able to export your newsletter subscriber list quickly and efficiently. Luckily, mojoPortal makes that a painless process.

Log into your mojoPortal instance, and access the Administration section. In order to properly follow along, you’ll need to have already set up a newsletter in mojoPortal, and have at least one subscriber – even if it’s just you!

In the Administration area, select “Newsletter Administration”. You’ll see a row for your newsletter, and in the far right column, a link listing the number of subscribers. Click the link to navigate through to the subscriber list. At the bottom of the list, you’ll see a button labeled “Export Data as CSV”; click the button. You’ll get the option to save the .csv file to your local system; do so, and then open it in your spreadsheet software of choice, such as Excel.

Once you open the spreadsheet, you’ll see the data on each subscriber that’s captured when they sign up for your newsletter. Depending on which third-party system you use, you may find it needful to change heading titles, but for the most part, you’ve got your list of contacts, and you’re ready to go!
