For those users who would like a step by step guide to installing an FTP client, here it is. FileZilla is the client I prefer, but any FTP client will work with Arvixe’s services.

First, open your browser, go to http://filezilla-project.org, and click on Download FileZilla Client.

Pick the right setup file for your operating system and click the link. For all versions of windows, You’ll want the file under “Windows” that ends with “setup.exe (recommended).”

A window will popup prompting you to either Save or Run the file. If you have the option to Run the file, choose it. If not, click Save File.

Once your file has completed downloading , you’ll need to Run the file. If you selected Run File when you started downloading, it will run the file automatically. If not, you’ll need to open your Downloads window in your browser (it should already be open from the download), to open this in Mozilla is usually Ctrl-J, and double click on the FileZilla file that you downloaded. This should open up the setup.

On the following windows:

Click I Agree

Check “Anyone who uses this computer” if you want to install FileZilla for all your users or “Only for me” if you only want to install it for yourself. Then click next.

The next section allows you to choose not to install certain parts of FileZilla. If you are not sure about what these are, leave them as default and just click Next.

This section allows you to choose where you install the program. Leave this as default unless you are sure you want to install the program in a different location and click Next.

At the next section, simply leave the text box as it is and click Install. This will install FileZilla.

When it is finished installing, click finish. If you want to run FileZilla at this point, make sure “Start FileZilla now” is checked. You can run it at any other point by going to Start, for Windows systems, Programs or All Programs, and going to FileZilla.

Now you have installed Filezilla and are ready to start using it. In the future I will post a section that will cover how to use Website templates. In this tutorial I will include step by step instructions on using FileZilla.

Anyhow, excellent blog!

Please let me know if you’re looking for a article writer for your blog. You have some really great posts and I think I would be a good asset. If you ever want to take some of the load off, I’d love to write some articles for your blog in exchange for a link back to mine. Please blast me an e-mail if interested. Cheers!
