How to Recover Your Elgg Site If You Entered the Wrong URL in Site Settings

This article will give you a step by a step guide on how to recover your elgg site in case you accidentally entered a wrong url under site settings. Login into cPanel and follow these steps:

1. Go to the databases section and click on phpMyAdmin:

2. Once you are inside phpMyAdmin, look for the database that your elgg site uses and click on that:

3. Now, you are inside the elgg database. On the left menu, look for the table called elgg sites entity and once you find it, click on it:

4. Inside that table, you can replace the wrong URL for the correct one. Just click on the ‘pencil‘ icon to edit the enter the right address:

4. Now, very carefully, change the row called url with type varchar(255) to the correct URL of your elgg site:

5. Click on Go and that’s it. Now you have access to your site again.
