How to Password Protect Directories

This article will give you a step by step guide on how to password protect directories in your cPanel. Sign into your cPanel and follow these steps:

1) Go to Security and click Password Protect Directories

2) Select the domain that you would like to password protect

3) Click Go

4) Find the directory you would like to protect. Once you find the folder you would like to protect, click on its name. To open a folder, click on its icon.

5) Name the directory

6) Check Password protect this directory

7) Click Save

8 ) You will then get a confirmation page. Click Go Back

9) Scroll down to Create User

10) Enter a Username and Password

11) Click Add/modify authorized user

12) You will then get a confirmation page

      Hello,

      By default this is not possible within cPanel. Most likely, you could Google for a custom software or have one built to achieve this functionality.
