This article will focus on managing which social sites your members can share content to.
One of the easiest ways to get new traffic and members to your site, is to allow your members to share your site’s content on their social networks. You may want to add or remove the ability to share to specific social networks.
In your admincp, select the Modules menu. Under the Share module, select Manage Social Sites.
The following page shows a list of the default sites that are setup in phpFox. You can deactivate any of them by clicking the green circle to the right, and turning it red. You can edit or delete them by selecting the drop down arrow to the left and choosing the desired option. Or you can move them up or down the list by dragging the up and down icon on the far left.
If you click the dropdown and select edit (for example, on the Facebook option) you will be taken to the Add Social Site screen, where you can edit the options.
For Type there are two options, Post and Bookmark. Post is used for sites like FaceBook and Twitter where you want to post a status update or tweet. Bookmark is used for social bookmarking sites that result in lists of bookmarked URLs that can be tagged.
Title is the name of the social site that you want to display.
URL is the url/directive to the post/share/bookmark feature from the site you are trying to share to. Most times you will have to find this information on the site that you are trying to share to.
Icon is the icon you want to use for the social site that is being setup.
Is Active should be set to Yes if you want this share feature to be active, and No if you are not ready to activate it.
You should now be able to manage the sites that your members can share your site’s content to.
