How to Install phpBB From Your WebsitePanel Using Microsoft Web App Gallery

This article will give you a step by step guide on how to install phpBB from your WebsitePanel. Sign into your WebsitePanel and follow these steps:

1) Click Domains

2) Click Add Domain

3) Click Sub-domain

4) Enter the name of your sub-domain. For this example, we will be using “phpbb” as the sub-domain name

5) Click Add Domain

6) Click Microsoft Web App Gallery in the Hosting Space Menu on the left

7) Find and click phpBB

8 ) Click Next

9) Select the sub-domain you just created

10) For SQL Database Server, enter localhost

11) For SQL DatabaseServer Instance, enter SQLExpress

12) For Database Name, enter a name for your new database

13) For Database User Name, enter a name for your new user

14) For Database Password, enter a password for your database user

If you get an error saying “Cannot use entered value for parameter ‘Database Password’. The value must match the regular expression ‘(?=^.{8,}$)((?=.*\d)|(?=.*\W+))(?![.\n])(?=.*[A-Z])(?=.*[a-z]).*”, make sure your password is at least 8 characters long with at least one lower case letter, one upper case letter and one number.

15) Click Install

16) You will then get a confirmation that your installation is complete

Once your installation is complete, your new phpBB page will look like this:

To test phpBB before installing it, visit phpbb.arvixedemo.com and use the username “bbuser” with the password “Test1234″
