Centova Cast is the world’s most advanced Internet radio stream hosting control panel next to Shoutcast. If you have a VPS or Dedicated server, and are looking to broadcast/stream your music live, then this tutorial will show you how to stream from your server. Centova Cast requires a purchased license in order for it to be used, but there is also a 30 day trial you can sign up for here!

Before we start, make sure you know your SSH credentials. You can find this in the hosting account information email we send out after your server it setup. Let’s get started:

1)  SSH into your server and run the following commands:

wget -O install.sh install.centova.com/LICENSEKEY

Replace LICENSEKEY with your own centova cast v3 license key. To obtain your license key, login to your centova client area.

2) Make it executable

chmod a+x ./install.sh

3) Run the installation script to install Centova Cast, IceCast, and ices-cc.

chmod a+x ./install.sh

This command will automatically download and install everything to get it up and running. Be patient, this can take up to 5-10 minutes.

4) When the installation shows complete, it will tell you to enter the URL to go to where you enter your MySQL credentials and complete the web installation. See here on how to create a MySQL database and user within cPanel – http://blog.arvixe.com/how-to-create-a-database-and-user-for-mysql/
