How to Install BlogEngine.NET From Your WebsitePanel Using Microsoft Web App Gallery

This article will give you a step by step guide on how to install BlogEngine.NET from your WebsitePanel. Sign into your WebsitePanel and follow these steps:

1) Click Domains

2) Click Add Domain

3) Click Sub-domain

4) Enter the name of your sub-domain. For this example, we will be using “blogengine” as the sub-domain name

5) Click Add Domain

6) Click Microsoft Web App Gallery in the Hosting Space Menu on the left

7) Find and click BlogEngine.NET

8 ) Click Next

9) Select the sub-domain you just created

10) Click Install

11) You will then get a confirmation that your installation is complete

12) Click Account Home

13) Click Web Sites under Web

14) Find your BlogEngine sub-domain you just created and click on it

15) Click Extensions

16) Change the extension from 2.0 Integrated Pipeline to 2.0

17) Click Update

Once your installation is complete, your new BlogEngine.NET page will look like this:

To test BlogEngine.NET before installing it, visit blogengine.arvixedemo.com and use the username “blogdemo” with the password “test123″

  1. I followed the instructions on this and it failed when at step 10 (Install BlogEngine.Net) and I got the following error message:

    The application could not be installed:
    – Error occured in Web App Gallery module:

    What can I do now?

  2. I got it to install by doing the following:

    After step 5, follow steps 12 – 17. However, instead of selecting ASP.NET 2.0, select ASP.NET 4.0.
    Continue with steps 6 – 11
