How to Display Google Ads on Top of Activity Page in Elgg

On a previous post I showed you how to display ads on profiles. In this article I will give you a step by step guide on how to Display Ads on the Welcome Message in Elgg:

1) With an FTP manager log in to your website.

2) Go to YourElggSite/mod/riverdashboard/views/default/riverdashboard and open the file welcome.php

3) Look for this code:



4) Now, go to Google Adsense and create an Ad. The size recommended for an ad in the top of the activity page is 468×60.  After you create an ad, it will give you a code. Copy and paste that code below the <h2> tag, like this:

5) Save the changes. Reload the activity page (Dashboard) and we are done:
