Disable Your Board and Display a Message in phpBB

Hello once again!

Today I will be teaching you how to do a basic board configuration to disable your phpBB installation and show a message so your users know what is going on.

First log into your forum then at the bottom of the page click Administration Panel or ACP as some like to call it.

After you do that you will be taken to the following screen:

Where you see the black link is Board Settings click that

You will then be taken to the Board Setting page and you will see a few box’s for different configurations. What you are concerned about is Disable Board as seen below:

You will click the Yes radio button and then right below type the message you want your users to see.

After you have done this scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Submit you should see the green box that says Configuration Updated Successfully.

After that you are all done log out and direct your browser to your forum.  You should see the following:

As you can see it shows a little Information box that displays the message you put in.
