How to Change the Default Access Permission in Elgg 1.8

In this article, I will give a step by step guide on how to change the default access permission for the content created within your network in Elgg 1.8. Go to your Elgg site, sign in as an Administrator and follow these steps:

1. Once logged in, click on the Administration Link to go to the Admin Dashboard:

2. Now, on the right sidebar, click Settings to display the settings sub menu. There, click on Advanced Settings:

3. Now, on advanced settings, look for the Default Access Permissions drop down menu. Choose the option you want:

4. After that click on save and that’s it. You just changed the default access permission.

Due to a rework on the administration panel, for some users have been difficult to find some of the Admin options, however we will continue helping you setting up your network.
