How to Add Word Filters in phpFox

This article will focus on how to add word filters in your phpFox website.

Depending on the nature of your website, you may find that there are certain words that you want to filter out and replace with other words that are a good deal less sharp or offensive.

Adding a word filter is a quick and easy process.  In your admincp, select the Tools menu.  Under Ban Filters, select Words.

On the next page you will enter the word that you want to filter out in the Word field.  Then you will enter the word you want to replace it with in the Replacement field.  If you feel that you need to place a ban on anyone that is trying to use the filtered word, you can do so here as well by selecting Yes to the Ban User option.  When done, select Add.

After you have added the word filter, it will show up at the bottom of the page like in the screenshot below:

Now, whenever someone enters the word apples on your phpFox site, it will automatically change to oranges.
