How to Add More Profile Fields in Elgg 1.8

In this article, I will give you a step by step guide on how to add more profile fields in Elgg 1.8

Profile fields are what your users put in their profile info in Elgg. Sometimes you need to add extra fields for your users. We are going to learn how to add more here:

1. Login as an Administration on your Elgg network

2. Go to the Administration Dashboard:

3. Then go to the menu “Configure -> Appearance -> Edit Profile Fields”:

4. Now, we will add a new field. First step is to name your new field:

5. Now, select the type of field it is going to be and click on Add:

6. And that’s it; you just added a new profile field:

   Adding a new field makes the default fields disappear. Using Elgg ver 1.8
