What is SEO?

SEO or Search engine optimization is a strategy that webmasters use to increase the visibility of a website and increase the numbers of users that visit the site.  SEO Optimization is important because it lets the search engines know what your website by improving the indexing of your site. In this article I will give you a step by step guide on how to improve the SEO on your elgg network.

1. Download the community plugin “Dynamic SEO“. Unzip the file and upload it to the mod folder of your elgg network.

2. Log into elgg with your Administration account. Go to the Administration Dashboard and then go to menu “Configure > Plugins“:

13. Search for “metatags 1.0.1” plugin and activate it:

35. Fill out the catching title, description and the name for the images uploaded on you network (avatars):
