Hi! Well, after writing over 170 articles here at Arvixe, I’ve decided to try a new approach. While some people learn better by reading, others find watching a live video to be more instructive. As a result, we’ll be publishing a series of videos covering various mojoPortal topics. If there’s a topic you’d like to see covered, just shoot me a line at [email protected], with the subject line: “Arvixe Tutorial Topic Suggestion”. Enjoy!
Today, we’ll go over how to set up nopCommerce in Visual Studio 2012.

Recently on the nopCommerce user forums, a developer sought to understand how to implement a popup site-wide for users visiting the site for the first time. Various industries can make use of this; sites that provide adult novelty products, wishing to confirm age, or any site that wants to remind site visitors of the benefits of registering with the site. nopCommerce team member haydie offered a clever solution; re-use the code for the EU cookie pop-up that’s currently implemented in nopCommerce. Let’s take a look at how that would work.Learn More

Those clever folks at Nop-Templates have just raised the bar again, with the addition of the ThemeRoller for their nopCommerce Fashion Theme. In our last article, we talked about how to create special customer groups, in order to offer premium pricing for customer loyalty. If you’ve got a lot of products in your nopCommerce-based store, this could become problematic if you’re wanting to provide discounts on many products. It may be better to simply offer discounts on a category basis; however, there’s still the matter of offering the price breaks to your most loyal customers only. Let’s take a look at how we can offer that via nopCommerce.
We’ll use the same special customer group we created in the last article; if you’re coming directly to this article first, I recommend referencing the steps highlighted there.Learn More

It’s not unusual to offer special discount pricing to preferred customers; a perfect example is the pricing available to Amazon Prime subscribers. With nopCommerce, it’s easy to set special pricing discounts for your preferred customers, and increase customer loyalty/return business.
Let’s start by creating your Preferred Customer role; log into your nopCommerce instance, and in Admin, hover over “Customers”, and select “Customer Roles”. Click the “Add New” button at the upper right; give your new role a name (I went with “Super Special Customers”), and a system name (no spaces). Click “Save”.Learn More
