Apply Colored Theme to OpenCart Store

In the past few posts we discussed the initial setup of your OpenCart online store. One important aspect we haven’t gone over is making your stop look different from the rest. The quickest way to achieve that would be to download some available theme and apply to your OpenCart store.

So in this article, I am going to show you how you can make your store visually different by installing a theme.

Step 1:

Download OpenCart theme from online OpenCart store. I am using free download theme.

Step 2:

Extract the zip file which you downloaded and Copy contents of the upload folder and paste to your opencart root directory

Step 3:

Login to Admin Panel of OpenCart and navigate to Extension->Modules  you will be able to see “Colored Opencart Module”  install that.

Step 4:

Click on Edit settings button of Installed module. You will be able to see following page which list down all available colors in theme. Enable the Skin color which you want to use for your store.

Step 5:

Go to extensions->Extension Installer and then click  upload button,select file “install.ocmod.xml” , then click continue for installation.

Step 6:

Go to Extensions->Modifications section and click refresh button to refresh cache. You will have to normally do this to make sure all cached data is cleared.

ModificationsGo to your opencart store and refresh your page you will be able to see new theme applied on your page.



This is just to give you idea about how easily you can apply existing theme to your opencart store. Hope this helps.
